Hello there. Last week I launched a reader survey. 6 questions, 1 minute of your time, and incredible value for me and you. Why? Because one of the questions is what your favorite team is - imagine if I could send my charts to you with YOUR team highlighted. New subscribers will be made to fill out the survey, but I’m asking all of you who’ve been subscribed - please spend 1 minute to help me out. Here’s the link:
I have gotten many responses. One of the (to me) surprising results has been that many readers asked me to do policy analysis. I didn’t expect that! While I have lots of thoughts about many current (and Congressionally legislated) policies, I thought if I wanted to give my readers the best policy analysis in college sports, I’d start by asking a friend.
If you don’t know him, Mark Haines is an expert on college football coaches. He runs the excellent newsletter Coaches Hot Seat (which if you aren’t reading, you should fix that). I don’t know anyone else who combines unparalleled expertise, clear prose, and a sharp wit.
I asked Mark to give my readers his thoughts on the Lane Kiffin Rule. As it currently stands, the Protect College Sports Act seeks to block college football coaches from changing jobs until the season ends. A noble idea. But what would that policy actually do? Mark has thoughts. I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.
