Greetings everyone,

Hope you all had a great holiday. The thumbnail I attached to the newsletter was taken on my way into work today. It’s a good summation of the vibes I’m feeling. You can see the big box for my daughter’s new Barbie Dream House. (It was the big ask she had of Santa this year.) A box of diapers. (Still have 1.5 kids needing those.) The surprisingly healthy looking, empty tree. (We picked our tree but they lost it which took another half an hour to clear up). And then there’s two bins that won’t close because they’re both overstuffed. (You should see all the trash I still have in the house!)

There’s some poetry in all that I can imagine my college aged self opining on. For the 40 year old father of 3 version of me, I’m a bit sad it’s over but excited for what’s coming up next.

As you can tell - no issue today. I just want to say thank you to everyone who's subscribed and followed along. I’ve enjoyed spending every week researching a topic, diving into the data, writing my analysis, and developing an insightful visual to help readers understand the subject quickly and concretely.

Here’s a sneak preview of the coming weeks. I feel like I need to do a year end wrap-up/best-of issue. Some of you newer readers missed some of my earlier issues and I think I can put together a gallery to tease everyone into diving into the archives a bit.

As for new issues, I’m using this time to start digging into several new topics for future issues. In the spring you’ll see issues on men’s and women’s basketball staff sizes across the FBS and FCS, athletic directors (who they are and where they come from), College Football Playoff ticket and attendance data, and more basketball financial analysis as we move towards March Madness.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride so far, can find something in next week’s retrospective to dive into, and look forward to some of these topics i’ve teased.

Oh - and enjoy the new years holidays. I’ll see you in 2026!

Best,
